Our little boy, age 4, wanted this read many times, and he's way past the stage where he wants books read and re-read. But this really "spoke to him." He loved it. I think it really made him understand what was going to happen soon, and made him excited about becoming a big brother. It's written at a very, very simple level, is quite brief (few pages and few words per page), and accessible to young preschoolers and toddlers.
