She loves things with that firm foam texture and so this was a perfect find. The cutouts stay in place well enough but have enough small holes that it's easy for her to pull them out. Sure, she chomps down on them, too, much to her delight, and so far, while there are teeth-marks in the foam, I haven't noticed any actual wear or deterioration so I just keep an eye out and let her bite away -- better to bite on that than on a person! I'm a bit concerned because it says "not for teething" and every baby will stuff the animals in her/his mouth, but other than that , a delightful book. Our little guy, he's 16 months old now, plays with this book every night in the tub. The pop out foam shapes stick to the sides of the tub and are fun to chew on. We were delighted at how quickly he recognized every pop out shape and how he enjoys taking them out of the book and putting them back in. The only drawback we found was that he somehow managed to rip off the last page. ...more
